Haiti: Haiti, the difficult passage


Over two hundred years after its founding Haiti, nearly ten million inhabitants, is today a country facing a multiple crisis. Faced with a disaster management policy that goes back to its independence, Haiti is also experiencing an economic and social crisis that has greatly handicapped in its development. In addition, a failure of responsible leadership, corruption in the system built over several decades. The various governments that have succeeded at the head of the state have always promoted to improve the living conditions of the population, putting the country on track of sustainable development, alleviate the suffering of the people, strengthen institutions to work towards building a modern state, democratic or human rights are respected and guaranteed so. The modernization and institutional consolidation of the state and political system, democratization and the regulation of politics, sustainable development are all challenges the country faces and that its leaders could not meet up . Not because these problems have no solution, but because our leaders have not always hoisted up to the task entrusted to them. They have not, for the most part, the vision which corresponds neither to the size of the problems the country faces neither the legitimate expectations of the people who bore the brunt of this terrible and pitiful situation.
